Government of Uganda has intensified its crackdown on non-compliance in the building sector following the enactment of the Building Control (Amendment) Act, 2026, assented to by President Yoweri Museveni. National Building Review Board (NBRB) is urging developers, contractors, and the general public to strictly adhere to approved building standards and regulations. Speaking in Kampala, the Executive Secretary of the NBRB, Eng. Flavia Gutto Bwire, said the amended law makes it mandatory for all stakeholders to comply with the National Building Code. She warned that penalties for illegal construction have been significantly increased, with offenders facing hefty fines based on the size of unauthorized structures. #nationalbuildingreviewboard #nbrb #buildingcontrolamendmentact #IllegalConstruction #ugandacatholictelevision #uctvuganda #uctv #uctvupdates #uctvnewsupdates
