National Day of Prayer Against Human Trafficking - Speech from Afred Avuni Director John Paul II Justice and Peace Centre (JPIIJPC)![]()
The Uganda Episcopal Conference (UEC), together with John Paul II Justice and Peace Center (JPIIJPC), Association of Religious in Uganda (ARU), Mwagale Foundation and St. Bakhita Network Uganda, in collaboration with other partners, held a National Day of Prayer to raise awareness on Trafficking in Persons on September 12, 2024 at Sharing Youth Center Hall, Nsambya .This day serves as a call to prayer, reflection, and mobilization against the modern-day slavery of human trafficking, uniting people to support victims and work towards eradicating this crime.
The Uganda Episcopal Conference (UEC) is the assembly of the Catholic hierarchy in Uganda. Founded in 1960, the UEC is the principal body through which the bishops collectively govern and coordinate the Catholic Church's pastoral and social ministries in the country.
The John Paul II Justice and Peace Centre (JPIIJPC) is a Catholic faith-based non-governmental organization in Kampala, Uganda, dedicated to promoting social justice, peace, and human dignity. Established in 2006, it was founded by five missionary congregations to take collective action against social injustice in Uganda.
