St. Paul Catholic Parish Aboke, nestled atop the serene Abongodero Hill, is now embracing a moment of renewal-a sacred mission to restore its beloved church, a sanctuary that has stood as a beacon of faith for over sixty years.

This holy place, though weathered by time, continues to cradle the prayers, hopes, and worship of hundreds of faithful souls. The roof, now in a state of deep disrepair, leaks when it rains and trembles in the wind-a moving reminder that even the most sacred spaces need our care and stewardship.

Surrounded by institutions that reflect the pillars of the Church, Catechesis, Education, and Health, the Parish is the spiritual heart of a vibrant community. From the renowned St. Mary’s College Aboke Girls to St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary, Atin Yesu Nursery and Primary School, Abongodero Boys and Girls Primary Schools, and Aboke Mission Health Centre III, this church stands as a guardian of both learning and healing.

Inside, the sanctuary radiates Catholic identity: sacred images of saints, a beautifully designed Altar, and a roof that once soared with grace, offering light and air to 500–700 worshippers who gather in reverence. But now, this sacred space cries out for restoration.

Rev. Fr. Vincent Orum (AJ), Parish Priest and Pastoral Coordinator of Lira Diocese, has spoken with deep conviction about the urgent need to renovate the church. A central organizing committee has been formed to mobilize resources, and a budget of UGX 600,000,000 has been drawn to bring this vision to life. Though the exact date is yet to be announced, there is a spirit of hope and anticipation in the air.

This renovation coincides with the construction of a new Adoration Chapel, an initiative to deepen devotion to the Holy Eucharist and rekindle the flame of prayer within the parish.

We humbly ask for your prayers. May the Lord bless this endeavor, soften hearts, and open hands to support the renewal of His house. If you feel moved to contribute, spiritually or materially, know that your offering will echo in the prayers of generations to come.

Together, let us rebuild not just walls and roofs, but the soul of a community united in faith.
